Language matters: Have your say in our next project!

What are we working on?

We know the impact that words can have. We know from conversations with practitioners and victims that the language practitioners use in relation to anti-social behaviour can be powerful.

In response to this, we are developing a guide for practitioners on best practices when communicating with victims and talking about anti-social behaviour.

“Use common language, be respectful and stop gaslighting” – victim response

How can you help?

As part of research for this project, we want to find out more about your experience(s) of practitioner language/vocabulary when discussing anti-social behaviour and communicating with victims.

Is it important that we capture as many voices in our research as possible.

“I don’t use the term ‘complainant’ as this conjurs images of someone complaining/moaning” – practitioner response

Quarterly Newsletter - March 2025

Our first quarterly newsletter is here!

We are really pleased to launch our first ASB Help quarterly newsletter. We want this to be a practical and useful document for practitioners and those interested in the world of anti-social behaviour to see at a glance what is happening in the sector. We also want to share our journey so you can see what we are getting up to as a charity.

Supporting Victims

What you need to know about the ASB Case Review

As part of our Your Voice Your Right campaign, we asked victims and practitioners two important questions…

What is something you wish practitioners knew about the ASB Case Review?

What is something you wish victims knew about the ASB Case Review?

It is vital that victims are aware of and understand their rights regarding an ASB Case Review.

Likewise, it is important that practitioners understand and implement best practices during ASB Case Reviews to ensure victims feel heard and supported.
