08/01/2020 – How can your local organisation help victims of Anti-Social Behaviour in your area?
Today ASB Help requested a ASB Case Review activation on behalf of two vulnerable victims of persistent anti-social behaviour. They have suffered 3 years of hell, despite the Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014 giving agencies the tools and powers to compel anti-social people to desist in their behaviour. With echoes of the Pilkington case, we really hope Cherwell District Council and Thames Valley Police embrace our intervention and bring an end to the misery being caused to these people before any more serious harm is caused.

Thanks for this excellent and thought provoking piece. Do you mind me asking, have you had any response from ministers or the Home Office following the report written by yourselves and the Victims Commissioner?
Thank you Eleanor. Yes we are working with the Home Office and the College of Policing to try to address the problems. We are also visiting a number of Local Authority areas to promote the use of the community trigger and have just launched a national campaign called the community trigger Pledge that we are inviting authorities to sign up to. It is a commitment to best practice and making the community trigger as inclusive as possible and fit for purpose. So we hope we are making a dent in addressing the problems but this will take some time but we are dedicated to our cause!
we have lived with Asb for over a year when the new neighbours moved in next door we have lived in our home for 10yrs.now we have cannabis engrossing in our home every weekend when boyfriend stays we have beating on walls banging heavily up down stairs slaming doors continuously all weekend even early in morning .its got so bad my 13 yr old daughter self harms wants to die left notes she don’t want to live here anymore and sanctuary housing do nothing even after a year of emails .Myself wish I would go to bed at night and don’t wake up the stress its caused is hell also ihave a husband whom is disabled and has recently had heart surgery sanctuary took away all our right away hard standing to our door as it crossed through our next door neighbour which has been there ever since the houses built. Know he has to walk across a lawn and over a muddy slippery bank to get to the road Even our post man was stopped delivery our post to us due to this pathway as the neighbour did not want anyone using it .All this continuous smell cannabis which engrosses in our home every weekend is making us all feel unwell and even my husband is struggling weve been to police they don’t want to no .Ive even got reply from police crime commissioner and still no joy. This man has even been seen watching my daughter in the hot tub 2019 through the hedge so we put up fencing to stop it .this year they started to rip hedge out and stood on bank in there garden pointing torch into her bedroom window now she is not wanting to open window or blinds .All sanctuary say is there is no evidence.the housing officer whom is suppose to be dealing with it is Paul Mills .He is not dealing with it it gets worse for over a year we have lived like this mental health on all of us at the moment it bad more so for my 13 yr old daughter whom is under a doctor and is not even in school for 6 months .I wish some one would help us.
Dear Julie,
This sounds terrible. We recommend using the community trigger if you feel your complaints of anti-social behaviour have not been dealt with adequately by agencies. Please see this link http://asbhelp-co-uk.stackstaging.com/community-trigger
Please bear in mind that Covid-19 is likely to mean timescales are not met but this should not deter you from submitting a community trigger if you believe your case meets the criteria.
Good Luck.
Please do get back in touch if you have problems trying to raise a community trigger.
