Meet The Team

CEO – Harvi Saimbhi
Harvinder is an expert in community safety and anti-social behaviour (ASB), she has held several prominent positions, her last being Head of Operational Delivery of Anti-Social Behaviour and Security Services for Leeds City Council. She has led major service reviews on ASB, noise nuisance, hate crime and CCTV.

Harvinder was invited to contribute to the revised frontline professional statutory guidance by the Home Office ASB Advisory Board and has conducted peer support reviews.

Harvinder has been a guest speaker at national community safety conferences, to share innovative models of good practice and has received a lifetime achievement award for delivering exceptional services in the field of community safety, ASB and a special recognition award for the development of hate crime services in Leeds.

Harvinder is passionate about enabling victims to have a voice and working with practitioners to tackle ASB effectively.

In her spare time, Harvinder loves to spend time with her grandchildren and travel abroad to work with charitie

Deputy CEO – Charlotte Hamilton-Kay
Charlie joined the team as our Specialist Victim Project Manager in July 2021.

Previously Charlie worked as an ASB practitioner within Derbyshire Victims Services (DVS), providing practical and emotional support to victims of ASB, and led in the development of several projects to raise the profile of ASB within communities and the impact it has on its victims.  During her tenure, Charlie and the ASB team at DVS received the Julie Coulthard Memorial Award for outstanding achievement for the casework they completed during the first Covid-19 lockdown.

Charlie studied Psychology at the University of Northumbria and takes a keen interest in the motivations and compulsions behind anti-social behaviour.  She hopes that in understanding more about the reasons behind ASB we can effectively tackle it.

She is passionate about supporting victims to cope, and recover, whilst also helping them find their voice in standing up against ASB. Charlie is excited to be part of our team and looks forward to championing victims’ rights and welfare.  

Personally, Charlie spends a lot of time outdoors with her husband, 4 year old son and dog, she loves berry picking for homemade jam, countryside walks and watching cooking programmes. 

Victim and Partnership Project Manager – Angela Denison
Angela joined the team in February 2022 and is a retired West Yorkshire Police Sergeant with over 30 years’ experience as a Police Officer.  She worked within CID, Patrol, Safeguarding and Neighbourhood Policing, and gained extensive experience whilst working within the field of ASB, securing the first Closure Order in the country in 2008.

Angela has been involved in various projects, working with partner agencies, including securing a Closure Order on a traveller encampment site, and tackling ASB linked to street drinkers and rough sleepers.

Following the tragic deaths of Fiona Pilkington and Francecca Hardwick, Angela was part of a District Review, examining how partner agencies dealt with ASB and went on to train police officers in utilising the ASB Crime and Policing Act 2014 legislation.

She has received awards for her contribution to tackling ASB and for her services to Neighbourhood Policing.

Angela is married with 2 sons, in her spare time she enjoys walking with family and friends and volunteers at her local Cricket Club.

Practitioner and Policy Support Manager – Jamie Miles

Jamie joined the team in May 2024 as Practitioner and Policy Support Manager. His past work experiences have predominately been within an emergency services setting as a Cheshire Fire Fighter and Police Constable.

Jamie has held several roles whilst with Cheshire Constabulary including Police Community Support Officer, Police Community Support Officer Coach and Police Constable. He has worked on the Neighbourhood Policing Team, ASB Unit, Partnership Problem Solving Unit, and Emergency Response Team. Having a varied policing background, Jamie has extensive experience in dealing with serious crime, domestic related incidents, assaults, public order, fraud, theft, county lines drug dealing, vehicle crime and ASB.

Jamie has been involved in various projects managing street drinking, rough sleeping, traveller encampment, and further ASB linked to local businesses, neighbour disputes, vehicle crime and youth offending. Jamie went on to present training inputs to local policing units throughout Cheshire to the neighbourhood teams regarding ASB, partnership working and problem solving.

Jamie is passionate about creating safer communities, protecting and adequately safeguarding our most vulnerable. He markets the importance of remaining victim focused at all times by developing a problem solving approach to partnership working and managing ASB.

In his spare time, Jamie enjoys exercising, watching/attending motorsports events and spending time with his three children and fiancé.

Administration and Communications Officer – Martine Crompton

Martine joined the team in April 2024. Martine has a background in mental health work, as well as a degree in Psychology from the University of Manchester. Martine has experience working with victims and perpetrators of ASB in community and inpatient mental health settings. After working in mental health, Martine went on to study marketing and has experience in administration and communications within the non-profit sector.  In her spare time, Martine enjoys playing Dungeons and Dragons and gaming. She has a fiancé, a dog (Daisy) and a cat (Eden) and enjoys spending time with all three

ASB Help was registered as a charity in 2013 and is funded by The Persula Foundation founded by Julian Richer.

We consider ourselves to be a small charity which has a big impact and we are completely independent of all governmental authorities.
